Made with pantry staple ingredients and love. This Vegan Creamy Smooth Corn Soup can be made with either fresh or frozen sweetcorn. A creamy sweet corn soup broth is utterly irresistible and warms up your heart.

This Creamy Smooth Corn Soup has been a regular recipe at our house for a long time. It’s silky and creamy. ( not too thick nor not too thin. ) I always have canned corn kernels and creamed corn in my pantry, as they are such wonderful inexpensive ingredients to have in hand when cooking at home, from salads, dips to soups…etc.

This is the soup for every occasion and all season. Sweet from the creamed corn, hearty and soul-warming.

Ingredients for Creamy Smooth Corn Soup
Here are the ingredients that make this vegan smooth corn soup really stand out.

- Creamed Corn( canned)– Here we use canned creamed corn( or Cream Style Corn), as creamed corn is made by first cooking the corn kernel then blending them. Using canned creamed corn will definitely shorten our cooking time while in a hurry.
- Vegetable Broth( low-sodium)- adding vegetable broth to enhance the flavor.
- Plant-Based Milk(non-dairy milk)- plant milk such as almond milk, coconut milk, rice milk, and soy milk. If you’re looking for a creamier taste, you can use coconut cream.
- Yellow Onion– Peeled and finely diced.
- Vegan butter & flour- created “Roux” which is the thickening agent for the soup. For a gluten-free option, you can replace flour to gluten-free flour.
- Salt& Pepper
How to make Creamy Smooth Corn Soup?
The soup will be ready on the dinning table in under 15 minutes!

- Heat up vegan butter in a heavy-bottomed pot and sauté diced yellow onion on medium-low heat until soft and transparent without color.
2. Turn the heat to low then add flour into the pot, constantly stir the flour until flour is invisible. (form roux)
3. Pour vegetable broth( low-sodium) into the pot and stir.
4. Add creamed corn, plant-based milk, and seasoning( salt& pepper)into the pot and stir.
5. Put the lid on. Bring it to a boil.
6. Carefully Pour the hot soup into a high-speed blender, blitz the soup until smooth then serve warm.

- 3 Tbsp Vegan Butter
- ½ ea Yellow Onion finely diced
- 2 can Creamed Corn( approx. 30 oz) approx. 840g
- 3 Cup Vegetable Broth low-sodium
- 2 Cup Plant-bassed Milk or Coconut Cream
- ¼ tsp Salt
- ¼ tsp Ground Black Pepper
