Asparagus is one of the protein veggies we eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We love to cook asparagus in aluminium foil with simple seasonings like salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and mixed herbs.

Grilled asparagus in foil keeps the stalks remain crunchy, not mushy. But perfectly tender and juicy inside the asparagus.

Grilled asparagus is great to pair with Vegan Fish, Vegan Scalloped Potatoes, Vegan Gluten-Free Roast, and Vegan Gluten-Free Gravy.

Green vegetables are essential for every dining table. We already spend a lot of time cooking the main dish, so it’s a good idea to keep the side dishes simple.

For me, without a doubt, grilled asparagus in foil is always the best candidate on the list while asparagus is always available all year round in supermarkets.

For grilled asparagus recipes with the foil packet method, you can wrap up different-sized asparagus in a foil pack and dump it in the oven or air-fryer.

The result is always promising- no risk of burning to charcoal or falling through the BBQ grill. And You will never have sad, steamed, mushy asparagus.

Grilled Asparagus Easy Recipe

For this recipe, you only need six ingredients including salt and pepper!

ingredients for grilled asparagus in foil
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Garlic Powder and Mixed Herbs.
  • Lime or Lemon juice

How To Make

4 steps of cooking process
  1. Preheat oven to 200°C/400°F. We need to trim off the woody part of the asparagus. The best way to do it is to take a stalk and gently bend it. Wherever the stalk snaps is the natural snap-off point ( where the tough and fibrous woody part ends, and the tender and young asparagus begins). Discard the woody parts.
  2. Line two sheets of aluminium foil with a piece of parchment paper on the top. Place asparagus on the top of the parchment paper without overlaying. Season the asparagus– drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and mixed herbs. Rub the oil and seasonings around the asparagus to make sure it’s well coated.
  3. Fold the parchment paper and the aluminium foil tightly to create a sealed wrapped pocket.
  4. Place it onto a baking tray then go into the oven to bake for 15 minutes. After it is cooked, squeeze some lime/lemon juice and serve when hot.
