TIPS, VARIATIONS, AND SUBSTITUTIONS
🍪 Chocolate Chip – For a classic favorite, mix vegan dark chocolate chips into the cookie dough before baking. This will give you a delightful chocolate chip cookie experience.
🍪 Coconut sugar or sugar-free syrup – If you prefer a different kind of sweetness, feel free to replace maple syrup with coconut sugar or even a sugar-free syrup for a healthier option.
🍪 Coconut flour or blanched almond flour – While this recipe uses almond flour, you can experiment with coconut flour or blanched almond flour for a different texture. Remember, this might change the cookie’s consistency, so you might need to add a bit of extra liquid.
🍪 Peanut butter – To play around with flavors, try using half almond and half peanut butter. This will add a creamy and nutty depth to your cookies.
🍪 Almond extract – If you’re a fan of almond flavor, a few drops of almond extract can enhance the nutty taste, making these almond flour cookies truly special.
🍪 Coconut oil – If you’re out of almond butter, melted coconut oil can be a great substitute, adding a slight coconutty flavor to the mix.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
CAN I USE ALMOND MEAL INSTEAD OF ALMOND FLOUR?
Yes! You can. Using almond meal will give the cookies a slightly different texture, as almond meal is less finely ground than almond flour. Just weigh the flour to ensure accuracy.
HOW CAN I ENHANCE THE FLAVOR OF THESE COOKIES WITHOUT ADDING SUGAR?
To enhance the flavor without adding sugar, consider incorporating spices like cinnamon or nutmeg. A pinch of vanilla extract can also add depth to the flavor. These additions complement the nutty taste of the almond flour.
CAN I ADD NUTS OR DRIED FRUIT TO THIS RECIPE?
Sure you can! Feel free to add chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans, or dried fruits like cranberries or raisins. This will not only add texture but also enhance the nutritional value. Remember to chop them finely for even distribution in the cookie dough.
CAN I SUBSTITUTE THE ALMOND BUTTER WITH ANOTHER NUT BUTTER?
Yes, you can use other nut butter like peanut butter or cashew butter as a substitute for almond butter. Keep in mind that this will change the flavor profile of the cookies. If using peanut butter, the cookies will have a more pronounced peanut taste, which can be a delightful variation.
