🍐 Ground ginger – You may mix this into the cake batter to add to the warm, spicy taste of the cinnamon. It also gives it a sweet-smelling aroma.
🍐 Crushed almonds – If you want a nutty element to the vegan pear cake, you may use crushed almonds instead of pecans. It still gives the same crunchy texture.
🍐 Nutmeg – This compliments the nutty, warm spicy, and aromatic flavors of the cinnamon. Add this to the batter as well before placing it in the oven to bake.
🍐 Lemon Juice – It helps the cake to be more moist. It also adds a citrusy element to the vegan pair cake. Also if you don’t want your slices of pear from browning before you can bake, you may squeeze a little bit of lemon juice and toss them to stop the oxidizing process.
🍐 Sprinkle Caster sugar – This is a variety of powdered sugar. You can sprinkle this on top of the baked cake to give it a snowy white look. bear in mind the level of sweetness of the cake before adding this in.
🍐 Sliced pear – you can chop up sliced pears to arrange them on top of the cake to give it a more rustic feel.
🍐 Gluten-free flour – examples of this are coconut flour and almond flour. Use these to fit your gluten-free diet.
🍐 Blender – You can use this machine if you have whole nuts and need to crush them up. then mix in the other dry ingredients to make the streusel.
Keep in mind, if you want more uniform pear slices you may peel them before it gets sliced. But you significantly remove the fiber content of the pears.
