Drizzling some spicy mayonnaise on top of Quick n Easy Vegan Burger, Vegan Fish, Crispy Panko-Crusted Tofu Steak, Garlic Chives Gyoza, and Beer-Battered King Trumpet Mushrooms, as well as any other kind of appetizer you can imagine, I just can’t have it enough! 🔥
What’s in Vegan Spicy Mayonnaise?

You only need simply three ingredients for Vegan Spicy Mayonnaise (gochujang mayonnaise), which are Vegan mayonnaise, Korean Chili Paste( Gochujang), and Lemon Juice.
Gochujang (gluten-free) – is a red chili paste that also contains glutinous rice, fermented soybeans, salt, and sometimes sweeteners.
It’s a thick, sticky condiment that’s spicy and very concentrated, and pungent in flavor.
The best part of using this Vegan Spicy Mayonnaise recipe is that you can always adjust the amount of chili paste to your liking.
So, if you’re not a fan of mouth-burning spicy sauce then you can cut the hot chili paste with more vegan mayo.
Or if you like to cut the flavor of mayonnaise a bit, then you can just add in more lemon juice.

As known as ” Gochujang”

If you can’t find Korean Chili Paste (Gochujang) at your local stores, well, you can use Sriracha (click the link to buy online) instead (as in the picture below).
However, Sriracha is milder than Gochujang because Sriracha gets its heat from red jalapeños peppers, and it’s a condiment that is meant to be added to cooked food to bring the heat without being overpowering.
While Gochujang gets its umami flavor from fermented soybean paste, Sriracha gets its savory quality from the garlic it contains, which is much milder.

UPDATE: Most Sriracha brands are vegan. However, some Sriracha manufactured in the U.S.A might not be vegan and contains bone char through the sugar that they are using to create their sriracha sauces.
Please check with the manufacturers before purchasing if you have concerns.
