Ingredients Needed For The Vegan White Pizza

This pizza is an amazing dinner for parties and gatherings.

You can have your very own gourmet-style pizza that has a garlicky, creamy white sauce that tastes like vegan bechamel, and topped with fresh and healthy ingredients.

Topping And Base

  • 2 pc 8-inch Lebanese bread – This will be the base for our pizza. I find that it has a thin, light, and crispy texture when baked in the oven. You can find these in groceries, supermarkets, or any Lebanese specialty store.
  • 1/2 pc small red onion (thinly sliced) – A basic ingredient for any pizza. It sweetens and softens while it cooks.
  • 1/4 pc yellow bell pepper (sliced into strips) – This will add a yellow color to your pizza. It also has a lot of health benefits and will also sweeten up while it cooks.
  • 1/4 pc red bell pepper (sliced into strips) – Same as the yellow bell pepper. It will add an appetizing red color to this dish.
  • 1/4 pc green bell pepper (sliced into strips) – Same as the other two colored bell peppers. This will complete the trio of colors on our pizza.
  • 4 pc mushrooms (thinly sliced) – This has an earthy and meaty texture. It also provides an umami flavor that is similar to meat. I always add this to my pizza so it won’t lack that meaty taste.
  • 1 cup vegan cheese (grated) – This can be store-bought as well. Vegan parmesan will add a nutty and creamy texture as a topping. It will also add seasoning to our pizza. You can also use vegan mozzarella for a sharper cheesy taste.

Vegan White Garlic Sauce Recipe

This white sauce has a creamy, smooth texture. It also has a cheesy and garlicky taste that combines well with the other ingredients in this recipe.

  • 1 cup soy milk or oat milk – The base needed to make the white sauce. It’s great for lactose intolerants as it is dairy-free. It will add a creamy element to our recipe.
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic – This provides the garlicky aromatic taste that we all love. Just make sure to let it simmer in the sauce to get rid of the strong pungent taste.
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour – It will thicken up our sauce. Just whisk it in to prevent lumps from forming.
  • 1/3 tsp salt – To season our white sauce and bring out the flavor of the other ingredients.
  • a pinch of black pepper – Another basic seasoning that adds a fruity heat to our dish.

How To Make Vegan White Pizza Sauce

We are going to make the sauce first so that all the ingredients are already prepared when we start assembling our pizza.

  1. In a saucepan with the fire off, start by pouring the milk. Add the garlic and flour to the pot.
  2. Turn the heat on low and whisk until the flour and garlic is well incorporated.
  3. Whisk to prevent lumps from forming. It will slowly thicken up as the temperature rises.
  4. Season with salt and pepper. Adjust the taste as needed. Simmer for 3 minutes. or until desired consistency is achieved. Whisk occasionally. Set aside to cool off.

If your sauce comes out too thick, you can add a tablespoon or two of warm water to help thin it out.

Topping Ideas For This Vegan Pizza

Having pizza is always a big surprise. When I want a box I always imagine the combination of toppings I can get.

And this recipe is no different. Topping ideas are virtually endless with this recipe. And while I like to keep it vegan remember that you can always add ingredients that you like. Here are some examples:

πŸ• Artichoke hearts with basil and tomato sauce – an artisan pizza that will make even the pickiest Italians happy. It has a nutty, mildly sweet flavor with the earthy taste of basil and a tangy sweet red sauce.

πŸ• Olives and mushrooms pizza – Another classic combination. The olives give a fruity, tangy-sour taste and the mushrooms have an earthy meaty taste. You can use white or red sauce for this one and it will be a banger either way.

πŸ• Bell pepper with onions and roasted garlic pizza – This combination is booming with different flavors. The sweetness from the peppers, the earthiness from garlic, and the pungent sweet taste of onions. I prefer the red sauce here but always follow your taste buds.

πŸ• Spinach and mushroom pizza – This one is also a popular combination of ingredients. The meatiness of mushrooms with the earthiness of spinach complement each other.

Plus the white sauce and cheese will add creamy flavor that brings it all together.

πŸ• Tomato and basil pizza with balsamic vinegar – An amazing combination that will make your mouth water.

Tangy, herby, savory, and fruity all at the same time. This one has bright and sunny flavors that are perfect for a summer pizza night.

Other Ways To Use This Sauce

πŸ• Pasta – If you want to you can use this sauce to mix in with your pasta. It can be any pasta dish that you want.

You can use this for lasagna, spaghetti, penne, or any pasta that’s available to you. You can add vegetables like eggplants, tomatoes, and basil to make your pasta dish.

πŸ• Casseroles – Another great way to use this white sauce is on casseroles. This will keep your dish from drying up and also add a saucy and creamy texture to your recipe.

Use ingredients like broccoli, carrots, or peas to make a hearty dish for the whole family to enjoy.

πŸ• Soup – Perfect for the winter or rainy season. This can be a base for a tasty and heartwarming soup. You can add potatoes or even a tablespoon of vegan butter to make it smoother and creamier.

πŸ• Spread – You can put this on your toast while having coffee on a relaxing weekend morning.

You can add vegan cream cheese to the sauce and let it settle in the fridge and you’ll have a cheesy creamy cheese spread.
