Ingredients

  • 16 oz firm tofu 450g

Asian Marinade Sauce

Instructions

  • 1. Open a packet of tofu and drain excessive liquid from the package. Place the tofu on a cutting board and use paper towels to dry the surface of the tofu. For optimal absorption of the marinade flavors, use a fork to prick the firmtofu. (Don’t skip this step!)
  • 2. Make sure you prick all sides.
  • 3. Cut the tofu into 1 inch/2.5 cm thick slices.
  • 4. Then cut the tofu into cubes (1 inch/2.5 cm) and place the cubed tofu pieces in a large ziploc bag.
  • 5. In a mixing bowl, add the marinade ingredients and whisk until well blended.
  • 6. Pour the marinade sauce into a ziploc bag (or a plastic bag).
  • 7. Seal the bag and place it in the fridge. Let it marinate overnight.
  • 8. Remove the tofu from the marinade and prepare the tofu cubes in an air fryer, an oven, or cook in a skillet until it becomes crispy tofu. Place the tofu on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, air fry or oven bake at 400°F / 200°C for 20-25 minutes). You can also cook your tofu in a skillet on medium-high heat until dried and crispy. Don’t forget to pour the leftover marinade over the top of the tofu (5 minutes before finishing cooking) to create a sticky sauce. Enjoy your delicious tofu!
